Getting started!!

Let's begin by telling you a little about me: I am a full time, working mother of 2 kids, whom loves to learn new things.  I have taught myself many different things, i.e: quilting, scrapbooking, and jewelry making.  The most fun I have though is behind the camera learning new techniques.  I have recently taken a few classes to learn about all the functions and what they do on my Sony a57 DSLR.  I started shooting after my son was born in 1994 and I had a 35mm Minolta film camera, which my step dad has now, and I shot a wedding for a couple who wanted photos of their special day and really didn't need expensive ones as they told me due to they both had been married before.  So I often wondered how my photos were turning out as I took them that day, I thought gosh I wouldn't have to worry if i could just see them.  This is when I got for a gift the Sony a100.  I took a digital photography class at Glendale Community College to learn more about the art of taking photos.  Just recently I did a portrait class and after the class I feel confident in taking portraits.  Here are a few I took of my daughter(because she likes to be my model).  Hope you enjoy!
